Vision
ASAC is community orientated and was created to serve local community initially only to help people during the pandemic that meant many people got stuck at home without access to essentials.
As per months of observations, we have established that there are people in our community that need support on many levels, those people often fall in between the cracks of the system.
Whilst we cannot solve each problem we will support individuals and work with local groups and organisations to provide appropriate help and to bring community together.
We aim to connect local people and to support those who need it, as well as enabling volunteers to make direct positive impact on people's life's through skills share and engagement in local projects that will further enhance the quality of life of all the parties involved.
Mission
We will continue supporting those who are shielding and /or isolating, providing help with shopping, collections of prescriptions and befriending.
We will cooperate with other local groups, organisations and individuals by organising or co-organising events, fundraisings, supporting projects and creating opportunities which engage local residents including volunteers for the benefit of all stakeholders.
We will enable peer support and learning opportunities.
We will use the skills of people involved in organization to enhance life of local residents - for example;
*by helping young people with their CV and by providing Mock interviews
*by helping people to get cheaper/better deals with their energy providers, mobile and internet providers and similar essential services
*by sharing skills, for example; operating sewing machine, cooking, gardening, basic repairs and other.
*by providing a repair cafe, where local residents can bring items for the possible repair
*by sharing available job and learning opportunities
*by helping filling forms/applications and budgeting
The above options are just the examples, and you are encouraged to enquire about help/support available.
We will ask local residents about their needs and interests and will act accordingly.
We are members of Third Sector leaders and we will continue to cooperate with local groups, organisations and councillors, Kirklees Democracy service, Huddersfield Mission and other relevant bodies.
